One of the key wickets was that of Gautam Gambhir.Warne removed slip, gully for gambhir and placed them at cover and point. That means a packed off side field, and what does Watson do?? He bowls length balls out the off stump...that can be hit to covers or point and u have a fielder there waiting to take he catch
magnificent planning!!
Delhi lacked in their planning, though Sehwag talked a lot about the plans. There was plenty of bounce on the wicket and none of the Delhi bowlers exploited it!!! Watson and Munaf patel bowled magnificently.
For tomorrow, the heart is with Chennai, but lets see because Punjab are a great team and it would be pay back time for them as they lost bothe their league matches to Chennai.
Till then
Cheers

it isnt planning at all...i wud call that stupid batting..! the bowler's bowling length and has a cover and a point inside the circle...! the batsman should either be slamming it over the circle or playing safe singles down the third-man...! at best ... i give it to the bowler for bowling to the field set!!!
my favorites amongst setting super field is Nasser Hussain and Mohd. Azharuddin...! mind blowing! Agarkar must credit 2 of every 3 wickets to Azhar...!!! :P
My point about the field placings was vis-a-vis the IPL. You have had many great captains. David Gower, Alan Border were brilliant. So was Srinivas Venkataraghavan.
It wasn't stupid batting completely. But the lack of runs because of bowling to the field that caused the batsman's downfall.
